Teaser - World Junior Tennis (Boys)

Was at SLTA tennis courts with me buddy Allen to do a photoshoot of the World Junior Tennis Tournament. Got a few shots but still baking it in the microwave... (speaking of baking, it was definitely baking hot these few days in Kuching, which makes me wonder and pity, how on earth are these international tennis players gonna cope with this HEAT.)

BOOM!

More pichas coming soon!

p/s Looking forward to watching ANGELS & DEMONS. Anyone interested?

ahlost is 25

Happy belated birthday to the sweet ahlost, who turned 25 on 7 May 2009. She was kind enough to throw us (fellow bloggers and friends) a party at Hartz Chicken last Saturday night.

I didn't take any group photos that night so here's a photo stolen from the one and only annna.net (thanks anna!)

happy bloggers who really know what to do in front of a camera -_-"

Track and Drag Race

This afternoon, me and my fellow photokaki, Calvin went to the Sarawak Stadium not to watch some football match or track and field event, but we were there to witness some of the fiercest and baddest cars available in Kuching churning out their respective potential ponies. Fairladies, Skylines, Imprezas, RX-7s, Civics...were a common sight there.

At stock, these machines are already feared animals on the roads, but here they are mostly tuned and morphed into scary beasts. The track race is unofficial and whoever feels that his car is capable of putting in a few impressive laps are welcome to take part.

The track - take note that there's a white Skyline in action

Man on two-wheel monster (Yamaha cruizer)

Next to the race track, there's a spot for drifters (sideways enthusiasts) to showcase their skills. Here's a drift car after a few donuts...

At around 4pm, suddenly everyone started leaving the place. Calvin and I just followed the bandwagon and ended up somewhere at Sejingkat area where some drag race actions are gonna take place.

Being tailed by a Skyline, kudos to Calvin for smokin' that Skyline

Monster dragster who pwned everyone

Some drag actions

Monster GTR with 600++ HP (jaw dropped!)

This was really an exhilarating experience being able to see and hear and feel street racing in flesh for the very first time. Thanks Calvin!!!

SIB Grace Night Of Worship

Last Saturday night (2 May 2009) my fellow shutterbug, Frankie invited me and my soon-to-be-EX-colleague-cum-brada, Calvin to cover a church concert event. Night of Worship (N.O.W) was organized by SIB Grace Church at Crowne Square.

Most of the photos here are taken using my kit lens with Flash (courtesy of another brada, LoiGoh).

Lebron is King

The King, Lebron James has been named MVP for the first time 2008-09 NBA regular season game.

During this season NBA regular season, Lebron led the NBA in triple doubles (7) and free throws made (594), second in points per game (28.4), total points (2,304) and free throws made (594), third in field goals made (789) and attempted (1,613), free throws attempted (762), fourth in free throws attempted per game (9.4), tied for sixth in total steals (137), tied for seventh in steals per game (1.69), eighth in total assists (587), ninth in assists per game (7.2), tied for 13th in defensive rebounds per game (6.3), tied for 14th in double-doubles (29), 23rd in blocks per game (1.15) and 25th total rebounds (613). In addition, he was only the fourth player in NBA history to lead his team in all five major statistical categories (total points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks) in one season.

Can you imagine all these stats are achieved in his 6th season at the "tender" age of 24???

Hats of to the KING!

Fashion Week at the Spring - Spring & Summer Collection

The show last night started at around 7:30pm. Since it was a "via invitation only" event, guests allowed into that area was limited to about 200 people. Upon registration, we received our door gifts which includes a sassy sandal (for girls). Here I have to thank Allen for "arranging" the entrance tickets for me, "Thanks bro!"

Actually at the end of the catwalk stage, there's a stage for photographers only. But given the fact that I do not own a tele-lens, I could only shoot standing really close to the stage using a borrowed Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 EX DC Macro Autofocus Zoom Lens (thanks to Allen again!)

Here are some photos from my very first fashion shoot event... (please leave comments!)

把根留住 Sarawak Rock Party 2009

If my Chinese language knowledge still serves me well, the first for chinese characters literally means let's keep the root. Me and my buddy Allen and the femes Robin Wong went to Kenyalang Commercial Centre to attend our very first Rock Party. To my pleasant surprise, the turnout that night was pretty encouraging given that it poured quite heavily before the event started.

We missed a few gigs cuz we decided to go for our dinner first before shooting like there's no tomorrow (pardon the pun).

Very feminine -_-"""

Pazuzu (surprised to see him on stage, man of multi-talents)

So into it~~

Another partner in crime, funkye aka Frankie (he has more talents than all your fingers put together)

Guess who?

Ooooooohhh....It's Andy Phe (U rock brada!!!)

Union Jack

Kamehamehaaaaaaaaaaa~~~

Who can forget this uncle with his band members who rocked the hall with their rendition of 2 Original Hakka rock number?

Guitarist from a Hongkie band who spots a cool hairdo

This Hongkie band really brought down the house with a couple of Canto-Rock hits

Tilt your head and move it all around...

And they even brought along their hot GFs who snap photos! Now who doesn't dig a girl who snaps with a DSLR? Well, at least I know that I do!

End with a B-A-N-G!!!

Overall, I would consider this event a real breath of fresh air in the local rock music scene. And based on the turnout which we had last night, I am sure there will more similar events in the future right here in Kuching.

And before I end this entry, I wanna post a few shots of bloggers at work that night...

Notice the hood of his lens? Looks chromed to me :)

ROCK ON BABEH!!!
