Drift and Track Sunday

Calvin told me sometime last week that one of his friend wanted gave him an official farewell race before he starts his career at Miri Old Airport in Miri. We hung out at his mechanic's shop for a while before embarking to our destination in No-Man's Land at Sejingkat.

We waited for the racers to turn up... but to no avail. So after half an hour, Calvin decided to leave the place and head to our State Stadium.

The weather was just soooooo fine

And behold...

A nicely kitted Nissan 350Z

The menacing RX-7

My colleague in his EvoIII....thumbs up

Spotted a troupe of Honda Civics

More action

DC2 kitted with INGS+1 widebody kit

A rare Toyota Chaser... this is the first time I've seen one in real flesh and meat

Satria GTi with turbo breathing down the EG's neck

Well, I certainly enjoyed myself this time around. Will definitely miss my brada Calvin's insight and technical knowledge on cars esp on Hondas. But fret not bro, hope I'll join you soon too in Oil Town.

Banana Frenzy

Got a couple of interesting encounters with bananas. Yes, the yellow fruit which grows in clusters.

How many sets of twin bananas can you spot in this cluster?

Next up, not our typical yellow bananas. These are RED bananas!

Note: The colors were not tweaked to make them look red. I boosted the color a little just to create a more striking tone of red.

But peel off the skin and this is what you'll get...

Still looks and tastes like any other bananas. -____________-

May you all dream of bananas tonight! :)

NBA - Where Amazing Happens

Yesterday I managed to catch the Eastern Conference Series Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Orlando Magic. After losing Game 1, Lebron James and co. face an improbable task in Game 2 with with 1.0 second left to play in the 4th quarter while trailing 93-95. The Magic fans must have thought they had won it hands down, but they have forgotten about someone in the opposing team whom they call King. This is what King James live for. After an inbound pass from Mo Williams, Lebron turned and took the 3 point shot from the top of the arc over Hedo Turkoglu. Silence. And it's in. It's over. Cavaliers takes Game 2 to even the series at one a piece. I even read somewhere that this shot by Lebron even bettered the buzzer beaters made by NBA legend Michael Jordan. This is what the NBA is - Where Amazing Happens!

Angels and Demons

I am sure most of you have been asked this question "Do you believe in spirits or ghosts?". Well, how do you answer it? Though many of us do not possess the "gift" of seeing beings from the underworld, but we still believe in their existence, no? Because of this not-seen-and-yet-believe scenario, we would normally jump onto any opportunities that will help us clear our suspicions and curiosities of the paranormal beings.

Angels?

The latest movie in town"Angels and Demons" which stars Tom Hanks is a very much anticipated movie by me cuz I really enjoyed the Da Vinci Code. It tells the story of how an underground society (which was driven underground by the Churches) called the Illuminaties plot a public revenge on the Christian community as a whole and Roman Catholics in particular. I was at the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie, ogling and digesting the story (although I did finished the same book written by Dan Brown last year). Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) displayed his experience, knowledge and wit to search for clues and decypher the codes laid out by the Illuminaties to prevent the biggest catastrophe in mankind. Despite the minor glitch half way through the movie- it was halted for at least 15 minutes (I even called my fren whose daddy owns the cineplex to ask him to confirm what happened, but he never got back to me... tmd), I would still give this movie a BIG 8/10.

Demons?

Note: Angles = Butter, Demons = Red Bean (These photos were shot while I was in DanShuei 淡水,Taiwan last year. Gosh I miss Taiwan!

Batman Wall Rockclimbing

Sorry for the delayed post of this rockclimbing experience.

Thanks to Roy, I tagged along to Fairy's Cave last Sunday to "conquer" Batman Wall.

Calvin and Em was there to shoot photos and cheer us on. LOL!

Honestly, from the ground it looks pretty easy but trust me, when you are actually being strapped and pulled up dangling in midair, you might not have the slightest idea and energy to start climbing (well, at least that was how I felt during my first attempt).

Check out the rest of the photos...

A fellow photokaki (but Nikon user)

A foot in the hole...also can!

Someone mentioned he looks like a HK drama actor...pheeewit!

There's a cow up there!

Caren going through the steps with Roy

Ling - never be fooled by her physique cuz she is STRONG!!! She is a really kind and patient lady who told us everything we needed to know about climbing.

Sexy back

Roy in action! (Hokkien:ka kui kui, tan tua lui; English: Spread your legs, earn more money)

Really fit people, and nice too :)

Although I barely climbed the wall, but I am still grateful that I was given the opportunity to try it out (no REGRETS). At least now I know that I am still very far from the admirable fitness level the pros on that day displayed. Gotta work on my fitness starting tomorrow! Thinking of going back to the gym, but being car-less really SUX! Bah...think I will just work out at home for now.

Note: Angels & Demons was beyond my expectations. If you haven't watched it, go catch it in the cinema. The thrill and fun watching the movie on BIG screen is totally different from the feeling you get by reading the book (I read the book last year). Kudos to Tom Hanks (Robert Langdon) for his GREAT acting. Looking forward to Transformers 2...

World Junior Tennis - Boys

Note: All these photos (except the 2nd one) were taken using 50mm F/1.8 lens

So, me and my photobuddy Allen went to SLTA courts last Sunday to catch the Finals of the World Junior Tennis for boys.

The weather in Kuching nowadays has been really hot and harsh, hence applying sunblock lotion is a MUST! Upon reaching there, we were greeted by tennis players (junior ones) from all over the world. At centre court, we managed to capture the finals between Chinese Taipei and Australia.

Match played under the scorching SUN

Although the levels displayed here are not close to those of their seniors like Nadal or Federer, their fighting spirit and team spirit are exceptional.

Bang the coach's head

Team Australia? Hmmm....

Future Champ?

Lonely

Speaking of loneliness, I have been feeling pretty lonely at work as of late. I do not have those brothers I used to have while I was in my previous department. The crazy jokes, the lame jokes, the cold jokes... it's all in the past now. Sigh...

I want out!
